MSc Speech and Language Therapy
Previous Experience
I have many years of experience providing Speech and Language assessments and therapy to neurodiverse children and young people, as well as carrying out formal diagnostic assessments as part of a multi-professional team. I have worked as Clinical Lead in an NHS Speech and Language Therapy community service and I am now director of Treehouse Therapies Ltd, a private company providing Speech and Language support to children and families.
I enjoy supporting children to recognise their strengths and better communicate with others. I also really recognise the importance of working with the whole family and the school setting, to create change in all settings the child encounters. I have a special interest in emotional regulation, and I enjoy helping children to better communicate their emotions to others and to ask for help and support. I also have an interest in attention difficulties and researched into the use of the TEACCH assessment of attention as part of my Masters dissertation.
Training
I am trained in many assessment and intervention methods but the ones I use most regularly are:
Autism diagnostic tools:
- ADOS-2
- BOSA
